Boardman will drive Partou’s SEND and inclusion strategy, supporting more than 100 settings across the UK to deliver high-quality inclusive practice and helping to ensure all children can thrive and reach their full potential.
Boardman, who holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) in early childhood education from the University of Sheffield, is a former head of department for early years education at Edge Hill University. She will report to Sam Sleeman-Boss, Partou head of early years.
“I am delighted to be taking on this role at such a pivotal time for the early years sector,” said Boardman. “The expansion of places coupled with the way settings are graded by Ofsted has created challenges as well as opportunities for providers, particularly in relation to SEND and inclusion.
“I have been impressed by the way in which Partou has approached these issues and look forward to playing a key part in delivering the highest standards of inclusive early education across our settings.”
Sleeman-Boss said: “Karen brings exceptional expertise in early childhood education and inclusion, alongside a genuine passion for improving outcomes for children. She understands that every child is unique and deserves to be seen, heard and supported in ways that respect their individual needs and dignity as little people.
“Her values align strongly with ours, and I know she will play an important role in helping us create environments where every child feels they belong and has the opportunity to flourish.”
