The school, due to open in January 2027, will provide for up to 72 children and young people with special educational needs, including complex speech, language and communication needs and moderate learning disabilities.
Hylton brings more than 15 years in education to the role. He began his career in a pupil referral unit in Lewisham, has held senior positions in specialist SEND settings, and previously led a school to an Outstanding rating from Ofsted.

As part of Kedleston Group’s growing network of specialist schools, Shillington Park School will join Brookways School in Sutton, Silverways School in Enfield, Leaways School in Hackney and Mapesbury School in Brent.
